If you like to have a drink every now and then, keep your money at home if you plan to do your drinking in a casino. I’m serious. Clean out your pocketbook, your billfold, and leave all money, plastic credit and cheques at home. Only take whatever money you expect to use on refreshments, tipping and whatever pocket change you expect to squander and keep the remainder behind.
Cynical? Not by any means. Realistic more like. You could experience a success following a boozy evening out with your comrades and be lucky enough to hit a 25 minute toss at a hot craps table. Hang on to that adventure considering that it’s as brief as it gets if you consistently drink alcohol and gamble. These activities just don’t mix.
Leaving your moolah back at the hotel is a tiny bit dramatic, but precautionary actions for excessive actions is a requirement. If you bet to profit, then do not consume alcohol and play. If you are able to afford to be wasteful with your money nary a concern, then drink all the free alcohol your stomach can handle, but do not pack credit cards and chequebooks to toss into the mix of going after losses after your drunk as a skunk self squanders all the cash!
